Alok Kumar helms the role of the CEO and board member at Oway Group, a Myanmar-based travel, ride-hailing & fleet management firm. Oway Group’s board found great value in Alok’s vast leadership and entrepreneurial experience and introduced him to the company in 2018, with the intent for him to shape Oway’s strategic direction and lead its next phase of growth. A veteran in the entrepreneurial scene with over 18 years of experience, Alok has a deep understanding of the digital consumer business, telecommunications, FMCG and technology landscape in emerging markets in Asia, especially Myanmar. He came to Myanmar in 2014, as a member of the founding team at Telenor, a leading telecommunications company across Scandinavia and Asia, into the country. Alok brings an in-depth knowledge of consumer segments, digital landscape and enterprise business dynamics along with deep-rooted people understanding operating in culturally diverse organizations. Alok has worked in many industries and his holistic experience is paramount in defining strategic direction and execution for Oway group companies in Myanmar. Alok holds a Master of Business Administration and is an alumnus from INSEAD.
