Shawn joined Grab in 2016 to establish its Business Development (BD) function. Today, he leads a team of eight that manages strategic partnerships end-to-end for Grab, from commercial negotiations, relationship management, to aligning multiple internal teams to deliver on promises. These partners include Booking Holdings, Microsoft, Samsung, and Singapore Airlines. The BD team also oversees the introduction of new partner services into the Grab app and has to date helped launch 3 new categories: hotel bookings, videos, and movie tickets. Shawn also leads the Grab for Business team with the remit to grow Grab’s value proposition and offerings for corporations. Shawn spent 7 years at Bain & Company prior to joining Grab and was also a part-time entrepreneur, having founded The Merry Men Collective in 2010 – an F&B company known for popular live music bars like The Mad Men Attic Bar at Boat Quay in Singapore.
